  1. Performance Task 1
I spend a lot of time with my uncles, aunties, and grandparents, especially during special events like birthdays, Christmas, New Year, and church activities. What makes these times even more special is that my uncles and aunties are also my church mates, so we get to celebrate together not just as a family, but as a church family too. I really look forward to these moments, and they’ve become a tradition in our lives. Whether it’s sharing a meal during the holidays or gathering for church events, being with them always brings me closer to both my family and my faith.

During these times, I’ve learned many valuable life lessons that I still live by today. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to always put the Lord first in everything I do. My family taught me that no matter what happens, our faith and relationship with God should be our top priority. Along with that, I learned that family is very important. They are my first ministry, and spending time with them is a way of showing love and care. My uncles and aunties always remind me that we need to support each other because family is the foundation that helps us grow.

Another key lesson is to always be honest and faithful. Whether it’s with family or friends, staying true to your word is something that should never be broken. I’ve also learned to help others when they need it. Whether it’s a family member or someone outside our circle, helping those in need is something that’s always encouraged in our family. Lastly, respecting others, no matter who they are, is something I’ve been taught and continue to practice. These lessons guide me in everything I do and help me live a better, more meaningful life.

  2. The Lessons My Aunties Taught Me

I always enjoy being with my aunties because they feel like my second mothers. Every time I visit them, they make me feel at home. We talk, laugh about simple things, and sometimes cook meals together. But more than the fun moments, what I treasure most are the lessons they teach me. They always remind me to be respectful to everyone. For them, respect is not just about saying “po” and “opo,” but also about listening, being polite, and treating people kindly no matter who they are. Because of them, I learned that respect makes people feel valued and helps keep peace in the family and community.

My aunties also taught me to never give up, no matter how hard things get. There were times when I struggled in school or felt like quitting, but they always encouraged me to keep going. They would share stories about their own challenges and how they overcame them through patience and determination. Their words inspire me to stay strong and work hard, even when things get tough. Until now, I carry these lessons with me—respecting others and not giving up. I’m truly thankful to my aunties because the values they shared are treasures that will guide me for the rest of my life.

  4. Performance Task 1:
    My Lola's sari-sari store

My Lola mely owned a sari-sari store in our small purok in 3. It wasn't just a store the store give us how we live and eat every day,my family gathered in Lola's sari-sari store, share stories, and buy everything from toyo and suka to candies and cigarettes. As a spoiled father's kid, I found the sari-sari store boring, dusty, and far less exciting than the air-conditioned malls I was used to. Lola, however, insisted I spend my summers helping her out, claiming it would build character. My job was simple stocking shelves, sweeping floors, and running errands. I grumbled and complained, seeing it as a form of torture. One sweltering afternoon, a young boy came into the store, clutching a crumpled five-peso bill. He wanted to buy a piece of bread, but it cost six pesos. He looked dejected, ready to leave empty-handed. Lola Mely, without hesitation, gave him the bread, telling him to pay her back later. I watched, surprised by her generosity. But Lola, I protested, "you're losing money!" She smiled, her eyes twinkling. "Sometimes, apo, the greatest profit isn't measured in pesos and centavos. It's measured in kindness, in compassion, and in the smiles we put on people's faces."

That summer, I witnessed countless acts of kindness and generosity in Lola's sari-sari store. She extended credit to struggling families, shared her meager meals with the hungry, and always had a kind word for everyone who walked through her door. I realized that the sari-sari store wasn't just a business it was a lifeline for our community, a place where people could find not only the necessities of life but also a sense of belonging and support. Lola Mely taught me that true wealth isn't about accumulating possessions but about enriching the lives of others. She showed me that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a world of difference, and that the greatest rewards come from giving, not receiving. The sari-sari store, once a symbol of boredom and drudgery, became a symbol of hope, generosity, and the enduring power of community. It was a lesson I would carry with me, always, a reminder that true success is measured not by what we have but by what we give.

  5. Performance Task 1.

    Title: Grandma's Garden

Spending time with my grandma in her garden is one of my most cherished memories. Every summer, I would visit her small cottage nestled in the countryside. The highlight of my visit was always helping her tend to her vibrant garden. Rows of colorful flowers and various vegetables filled the air with sweet fragrances. Grandma, with her gentle hands and endless patience, taught me how to plant seeds, water them, and care for each plant individually. She explained that each plant, like each person, had unique needs. Some required more sunlight, others more water, but all needed love and attention to flourish. I remember one particular summer when I accidentally uprooted a young tomato plant. I felt terrible, but Grandma calmly showed me how to replant it and nurse it back to health. "Just like people, plants can recover with a little care and support," she said, her eyes twinkling with wisdom.

The most important lesson I learned from Grandma's garden was the value of patience and perseverance. Gardening is not an instant process; it requires constant effort and dedication. There were days when the weather was harsh, pests attacked the plants, and it seemed like nothing was growing. Yet, Grandma never gave up. She taught me that life is similar to a garden. There will be challenges and setbacks, but with hard work and perseverance, we can overcome them and achieve our goals. This lesson has stayed with me throughout my life, helping me navigate difficult situations with resilience and a positive attitude. Grandma's garden was more than just a place to grow plants; it was a classroom where I learned invaluable life lessons that I continue to carry with me today.

    “My Grandma’s Love”

As the first granddaughter in my family, I truly experienced the love and care of everyone around me, especially my grandma. She has always been one of the most special people in my life and someone who gives me strength. Ever since I was a child, she has been there to guide me, teach me, and take care of me in the best way she could. I really love spending time with her because every moment with her feels meaningful and full of lessons.
My grandma has taught us many important values that I still carry with me today. She showed us how to respect others by using “po” and “opo,” and she also taught me to have faith in God. We would go to church every Sunday, and eat Jollibee after. Those simple routines became some of my happiest memories. She helped me shaped my personality and to be a better version of myself.

I also enjoyed quiet moments with my grandma when we just sit and talk with each other. Those moments are special for me because they are filled with love and bonding. I also admire how hardworking and patient she is. Being with her taught me the value of my family. Even when things get difficult, she never complains. I remember, she also tells me stories about her younger days and I enjoy listening to them because they are full of wisdom and sometimes funny that can make me laugh really hard. She has given me memories that I will carry until I grow old. My grandma is more than just a grandparent, she is also my friend and my biggest supporter. I am proud to say that she will always have a place in my heart. She is a blessing that I will never take for granted.

I chose Tepace’s story because it is about her grandma’s sari-sari store, and it relates to me since my grandma also owns one. I picked her story because we share the same experience of growing up with our grandma’s store. It is relatable to me because, like her, I used to help my grandma, whether by cleaning the shelves or assisting customers. For me, our grandma’s sari-sari store is more than just a small business, it represents family, love, and togetherness. It also reminds me of the simple happiness we felt while spending time.

    "A Bittersweet Reunion"

My story on how I spent my time with my aunt, uncle, and grandmother is not happy, just like yours. The year was 2019 when my father went to the province. Since the pandemic came, he hasn't come home. He works there as a farmer. We used to call each other every time he was not busy. On May 22, 2024, an unexpected call from my Lola informed me that my father died in a motorcycle accident. Since my father was in the province (Bayugan, Agusan del Sur), I and my mother went there to see him. We traveled 2 1/2 days by bus it was my first time to travel like that. Half of my heart is happy because after so many years I will see my father again, but my heart suddenly sank when I saw him inside the coffin.

I saw all my cousins, my aunt, my uncle, and also my grandmother. I felt happy because it was my first time I spent time with them. We ate together, we bathed in the deep well, we played in the rice fields, and I also slept in my cousin's house. My Uncle Boby the eldest brother of my father. He took us to the nearest mall. We ate delicious food, and he also bought all my favorite foods. He said, "bilhin mo ung mga gusto mong pagkain ,bibbilhin natin, patay na si papa mo kaya ako nalang ang bibili para sayo," but in Bisaya words, and then my mother translated it to me. Despite it being my first time experiencing all of that, my heart hurts until now every time I remember my father is dead. I always ask myself, is this the way I should spend time with them? I always cry; it was so painful, but they were the best memories I have with them. Until now I still remember what happened when we went to the province…That is the story of how I spent my time with them.

    1. I chose this because I also want to experience being together with my cousins, aunts, and relatives. I chose this because I was happy that they were all together and that they were able to go to their grandfather's province. However, it's heartbreaking that they went there because their father had an accident and passed away, so their story is also sad. But I was happy with the part where they were all together and they saw their relatives.

  9. A Grand love story
I chose my grandfather and grandmother because I am close to them and my wishes are often granted because of them. However, I prefer my grandfather because we are close and he always buys me what I want! I'm not as close to my grandmother, but she also buys me what I want sometimes! That's why I grew up as a "Lolo's girl" because I am closer to my grandfather than my grandmother, and he is very kind to me. That's also why I prefer my grandfather because he gives me allowance money when my mom and dad don't give me any, and if they forget to give me any, my grandfather gives me some, so even if my mom and dad aren't around, it's okay because I have my grandfather.

Sometimes we go to the mall, and it's my grandfather's treat. And sometimes he tells me that whatever I want, I should just buy it. That's why I'm a "Lolo's girl" because we are so close. Of my three grandfathers, he's the one I'm closest to. Because that's how he treats me, he makes me feel like a princess. And not only that, whenever I'm sick, he always buys me my favorite, super delicious lugaw (rice porridge). Whenever I'm sick, he always takes care of me, like feeding me, giving me a massage, and wiping my face. Sometimes when I don't have my cellphone, he lends it to me until I fall asleep. And whenever there's food and I'm not there, he always sets aside food for me so that when I get home, I can just eat. That's why I'm extremely grateful to him because he's the only one who has ever treated me that way.

  10. Things that my grandma taught me
My grandma taught me many things like simple cooking gardening and many things in my life.but there is only one thing she doesn't like that is wasting food or throwing away food because she said there is many people begging for food out and I'm just throwing it out.she always takes me shopping to buy things she need for her little sari-sari store she always buy me there while I wait for her to come back she also loves plants and planting them she has a lot of plants outside her house thre is little plant and there are also big plants she teaches me how to take care of she said if the is exposed to sunlight to much it will be dry I love Lola so much because she's the one that buy the food that I want.

She said always say be good in school because if you have bad grades and you fail your job when your older is even worst make sure to study hard thats what she always said to me extremely grateful to have someone like Lola to have in my life because she's the one who teaches me the thing I need to learn she cooks food for me when I'm hungry make sure I eat before I out and make sure I don't get sick but when I get sick she takes care of me and feeds me soup make sure I eat the medicine needed when I say I need money for things at school she gives me the money needed I can buy the stuff needed for my school³⁹when I'm sleeping she puts a blanket on me so I don't get cold at night and I will never take that for granted.

  11. Love Of My Grand Parents

When I was a kid my grandparents treat me good. When I was a kid my grandparents always care of me because my mom and dad are in their job so my grandparents my grandfather and grandmother always take care of me because my mom and dad is on their job. When I turn into 5 years I had a sick and my grandparents take care of me when I'm cold they put blanket on me and when I get get tripped and my knees hurt they heal it with a bandage. And when I need some money to buy food there always give me money to buy want I want. And if someone want a fight to me my grandparents say dont fight with them and show no care about them don't listen what they said to me and I'll go home instead.

And the time when my grandfather got sick we take him to the hospital because of a high fever. And when i want to play my grandfather always play with me and when I have an assignment my grandma and grandfather are helping me to finish it. And when I'm hungry and no food they cook us to eat. And when we go to the school when they gave us money take add like "10 pesos, " 20 pesos", and when we go to the market they always buy me a chocolate and donuts when I want some toy they buy it for me. And when my grandparents will go back to their house I promise to my grandparents to will visit them and show what I am in future and I promise to them I'll do my best to achieve my goals and I promise when they too old I'll take care of them

      Title: The Fishing Trip That
      Changed Everything

When I was about ten years old, my grandpa took me on a fishing trip that I thought was just for fun. We woke up before dawn, packed our gear, and headed to the lake. I was excited about catching fish, but Grandpa seemed more interested in teaching me about the environment. He showed me how to identify different bird calls and explained the importance of keeping the lake clean. As we fished, he shared stories about his life and the challenges he had overcome.

The real lesson came when I accidentally snagged my line on a submerged log. I became frustrated and started jerking the rod, trying to free the line. Grandpa calmly took the rod from me and patiently worked to untangle the line without breaking it. He explained that sometimes in life, you have to be patient and persistent, even when things get tough. That fishing trip taught me the importance of patience, respect for nature, and the value of intergenerational wisdom, lessons that I carry with me to this day.

  23. Title: Lola's endless love

Since I was a kid, my lola looked after us. She makes sure that all of us (my siblings and our cousins) are well fed, she is selfless when it comes to us. She is the type of lola that will make everything to make us happy, she sacrifices her wants to give us what we need. Our grandma is our role model because to us, she's the best grandma in the whole world, she's strong, caring, kind, and brave. When our parents is not available, she's like our second parent, she makes sure that all of us are loved equally.

There is a time where I'm crying because I'm scared of my papa's death (I was a 7 years old at that time) she became my crying shoulder and my comfort person, she assures me immediately that I shouldn't be scared because my father is still young and strong (Im a daddy's girl), my lola is my everything she's my role model, and my favorite person. Another situation is when I'm crying again, because my mom is still not home, it's 11:00p.m already, I'm scared that she's not coming back home, and she left us. My lola comforted me, and assures me that my mom is just working and will come home soon, she stayed with me outside our house even though she's getting sleepy, she's making funny faces to make me laugh because I couldn't stop crying. That moment stayed in my mind until now, I couldn't stop thinking about the sacrifices she made for me. Because of her, I learned to be strong , brave and being soft and caring at the same time. Seeing her selfless when it comes to us teaches me how to love genuinely and unconditionally, that shows that she is willing to take risks and sacrifice everything for the people she loves. She is the reason why I am the way I am now, the wrong things or bad things that I do now is because of myself, I will not blame her Because the things she teaches me are the good things.

“My lolo and Lola’s white hair”
Me and my Lola’s bond are inseparable even though we don’t see each other that often because she is busy helping my lolo with his work at their farm and me when it comes to my school works . Although, whenever my grandma and I have a free time we would always have fun! Whether we’re baking, going on walks, or playing board games such as monopoly or chess! One thing particularly my grandma makes me do is to pluck her white hair to keep her looking “young”! I mostly pluck my grandmas hair outside their house, at the porch where we could view the sunset so that we could see it even if I’m plucking her uban! Whenever I’m at our lola’s my day would always be filled with love and laughter! As for my lolo, we also do the same thing! Although we don’t do it anymore because if i still do my lolo would look bald by now! Joke’s aside, my lola and lolo taught me a lesson that i could never forget. Which was to always embrace every stages in life with love and to always appreciate it. That those white hair of theirs was a sign of wisdom and all of the things that they’ve been through their whole life. And i believe that the lessons that my grandma and grandpa will shape me to the person i will become in the future!

I could say that I’m blessed to be surrounded growing up with my grandparents that i could tell everything about regardless the topics are! The story that i chose is Dordas’s story. Her story is heart breaking, yet it taught me a lot of lessons. That not all family could always meet each other a plenty of times. Dordas’s story taught me to always cherish the times that u have with your family. Her story is a bittersweet memory with her family. The story that Dordas made is a quite relatable story for me, because my family at my mother’s side don’t see each other a plenty of times, that’s why I find dordas’s story interesting and a heartwarming story
